Fashion Jewellery Designer Lara Bagar
"Fashion is my passion," says Lara Bagar, a self-taught jewelry designer from Pula. She began her more than two-decade-long journalism career by writing about what she loves: fashion. While she crafted fashion articles with words, she also created jewelry with beads, connecting the seemingly incompatible elements in her designs. Lara's jewelry reflects her eclectic style. Each necklace tells its own story, showcasing a powerful aesthetic on one side and a delicate elegance on the other, thanks to the ethereal play of glass beads.
These pieces are not just jewelry; they are artifacts in their own right. She skillfully blends contrasting elements, such as bear motifs with beads, luxurious glass balls within striking necklaces, and sparkling diamond-shaped filigree—all while redefining beads by placing them in tubes.
Lara embraces beads in every aspect of her wardrobe, pairing them not only with military pants but also with evening dresses. This is her way of adding a dose of escapism and luxury to everyday life. Her jewelry embodies luxury that is accessible for any occasion. As her favorite designer, Karim Rashid, states, "Luxury is when you do what you love," and that is precisely what her jewelry represents. Additionally, beauty, in Lara’s view, is not selfish; it is something to be shared. The October fashion editorial in Gloria Glam, photographed by renowned fashion photographer Suzana Holdgrave from Berlin, features Lara's necklaces alongside those of Croatia's most famous designers, further proving her commitment to sharing luxury with others.
